On the subject of sticking wet devices in the freezer, don't you think water expansion upond freezinf will actually break something in the device itself?
How about freezing the display?

I think I'll keep my phones out of the freezer.

Thanks to the OP for keeping us posted on what you did and how it worked out. Something like this could happen to any of us. Ya just never know.

BTW, I have experience over the years with a couple of phones winding up in swimming pools. They both worked fine after quick disassembly and thorough drying. The battery on one of them was a gonner but the phones worked flawlessly.

what you SHOULDN'T do when ANY phone gets wet.
is let it dry. because water doesn't damage the device.
it is the combination of air and water. so by letting your device dry out, you are slowly torturing your device by letting air come to the water.
best thing you can do when a phone gets wet is put it in a air sealed bag.
and put it in the freezer. sounds silly.. but it works.

it saved 2 of my phones over the years.

I think this needs to go down as the worst advice ever given on BBF and a editors note added to the post

Yes Sir, it worked once again! I shortly then got rid of it. The storm was probably the biggest piece of **** phone EVER!!! I got a Bold 9000! A much better phone overall. The Quality, OS, and Usability. Yeah its not a touch and doesnt "look" as cool. My god was the Storm BAD! The touch screen I used in 2003, the Motorola A1000 3G phone was a better touch screen!!
