Question [8520] Outlook de-uglyfier?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello

I installed Outlook (2007) since it's the most used PIM that can sync with a BlackBerry, but I find its UI ugly, and the different dialogs contain way too much items for my use.

I tried the Agendus for Outlook add-in, but I still find the UI busy, and one thing I find missing is "floating" tasks, ie. tasks should be displayed in the Calendar, and just float from one day to the next until they're marked as Done or deleted.

Thank you for any tip.

The only other PIM I know of is Pocket Informant. I have tried it and didn't find a compelling reason to use that instead of the standard PIM features of my BlackBerry. It runs independently/separately from the built-in calendar/address book clients. Since they're not linked you have to sync them periodically. When you enter a calendar appointment into Pocket Informant it does not automatically go into the BlackBerry calendar as well. I didn't like that. I also wanted a weekly grid view, which PI provides, but its formatted all wrong. I wanted a vertical layout like a paper date book, but PI's week-at-a-glance view is horizontal. Not user-changeable either. Still, you may want to take a look.

You may also be interested in GoogleSync. It will do wireless OTA synchronization of your calendar/contacts.

Maybe try Outlook 2003? Or Yahoo?

Not too many other choices.
