I don't see what you see.

Saying wifi works (or doesn't work) without a data plan is meaningless.

The faq does not say you need a data plan to use wifi. It cites specific functions (push email, UMA, for examples) for which a data plan is required.

You do not need a data plan to use the hotspot browser to browse the internet.

I don't see an error.
Looking back at it, I misread it.

With NO data plan you may:
"NOT send or receive any information over the internet, in any way shape or form, despite what you heard about it being possible"

True for BBs without wifi, but for those with wifi you can use internet/data.

Because your Fuze is NOT a BlackBerry. BlackBerry devices need BlackBerry plans to function properly!

Also, how can you afford two $500 phones, but not the correct plan?

Yes, it is true that you can still access the internet, but you cannot use the data functions to the same extent that you can with a BB data plan - which is what the FAQ is pointing out.

I got it like that little girl, it has nothing to do w/me being able to afford a data plan. I donxxx8217;t need a data plan, but being able to use Wi-Fi in a pinch would be nice. Itxxx8217;s like not being able to use Bluetooth w/o a data plan. is the way i see it, and i read some of your other useless comments about this issue.

Trying to get your BB to work without a data plan is not illegal. Yes, the Bold will work with wifi only. Even when the sim card is out.

Sheesh! From reading some of these posts you would think that a rep from At&t will knock at your front door wanting to know why you dared use the Wi-fi feature of your handset.

If I'm checking something real quick ill go to Manage Connections and turn off Mobile Network and turn on Wi-fi. It says something about the radio needed to be turned on but just back out of that and you can use the browser with just wi-fi.
