Default BB Smart E-Mail Viewer

Please Login to Remove!

I downloaded the trial of this today. I like it, but one thing has me confused. My pics are showing up as attachments or links, even though they were copied and pasted into the original e-mail retrieved on my computer.

I have all of the e-mail display options checked off and have tried this using the BIS and TCP/IP options.

Any suggestions? The screen shots show actual photos pasted in the email. Am I not seeing this because I have the trial version?

TIA!

Anyone? Is this happening because it is the trial version?

Steph, pictures embedded in HTML emails will or should view with BB Smart.

It is chancy though on doing as you are trying, sometimes they will, sometimes not. You have to understand that RIM strips HTML emails of most coding, leaving mostly the links (in most cases). What BBSmart and Empower HTML email viewers do is to attempt to recreate that HTML email for you. It is not always 100%, since BBSmart gets the email after RIM has stripped it.

That's the short of it, I am sure there is more to the expanation, but that is the way I understand it.

Thanks for your input!

So is it even worth purchasing BBSMart or Empower? Maybe I should keep the trial until we get this upgrade that is supposed to have HTML emails?

Keep the trial and see. I like it, it is well worth it to me. Are either product 100% accurate in their rendering? Nope. But if you want HTML-like email, those two are the best you have for now.

That said, I survived for years with the text only.

I took advantage of the deal that was being offered a few weeks ago and actually got the bbsmart for free. I like to capability of viewing html, however is does lack in the speed department, and so far I havent figured out how to have seperate options for different e-mail addresses.

Anthony and I downloaded Empower last night, after a few days with BBSmart. In an instant we knew we liked Empower better, so we are keeping that and uninstalled BBSMart.

Default BB Smart Viewer Issue

I purchased and installed the BB Smart Email Viewer and it worked great. However, after a couple of days I started noticing the "busy" icon like my BB was about to get a call or message. When the Icon went away, I looked at my call log and it was cleared, as well as my text message history? This happened a few times and the only third party application that I have installed is this BB Smart Viewer.

I have sinced removed it and I do not have the problem of Call or Text message history being deleted.

Any suggestions as to what might be causing this to occur?

Thanks in advance.

The BBSmart application doesn't have anything to do with the memory leak/loss you are experiencing... It is an overall memory issue. Read more here:

I also prefer Empower after trying BBSmart. It's faster and the emails look better.
