The way GC works is that if anybody calls your GC number, you can have it forwarded to any other number. It does NOT affect your current number. You will only receive calls to your cell number and the GC number on the same phone if you set GC to forward either some or all calls to your cellphone. If you have GC forward to different number like your home landline, your cellphone will obviously not ring.
