Default Google Canada - WTF?

Please Login to Remove!

I opened my browser and went to google.com. Just realized tonight, it's google canada. No big deal except I was trying to get the RSS feed for google news and it's pulling canadian news. Anybody else have this problem?

You have to scroll to the bottom and click on "go to google.com" and it shouldn't be a problem anymore.

I had the same issue. Then one day it just went away. Google.ca came up when I entered google.com into the browser. Two days later, when I entered google.com, the canadian version was gone.

I wonder if it was a google issue for thier pda page.

pssst... just search next time for your topic terms - 'google canada' (and no, that's not saying you did anything wrong). anyhow, you can go to the following link to remove the country detection. when visiting google.com, it detects your location based on your IP address and routes you to the appropriate server (sometimes this helps to speed up routing requests and lag time). in this case, your IP is detected as Canada, as RIM's HQs are located there and their IP blocks for their proxy addresses are registered to their company in Canada (although i don't believe the proxies are physically located there, but maybe so).

Thanks Jibi. And as always...WAR DAMN EAGLE!

My problem is, being new to BB, I don't like looking outside the 8100 forum because I'm not sure how relavant info for say the 7100 or 8700 is to an 8100. I guess most of it carries across all BBs. I'll search better next time.
