I have installed the WAP link OTA, via E-Mail and using DM. For some reason this is the only link that will not work. 35 other shortcuts work with no problem. I've tried a battery pull and looked for answers on this sight. Error message is as follows, "The protocal specified is not supported by the hand held please try a different url." Is this a problem with the link or is my Bold 9700 that has no other problems that I'm aware of the fault?

I am getting the same error message with the wap shortcut on BES since upgrading to 5.0.0.411 five days ago. Worked fine for almost a year and a half while using OS 4.6.
Should have come here first when I first encountered this issue and avoided at least half a dozen deletes and OTA reloads.
I am surprised no moderator has not picked up on this and responded specifically to your post almost 2 weeks ago or put a note at the top of this thread about problems with the WAP shortcut and certain OS 5.0s and avoided a lot of user frustration. After all it is a shortcut to BlackBerryForums.com. It goes to the very heart or this Forum.

Also getting the same error for BBFAQ on my Bold 9000 with OS 5.0.0.411 on BES
The BBForums shortcut is working though.
Two of the three shortcuts to "your favourite forum" are not working. Is no-one moderating this thread?

The shortcuts were made for OS 4.5 and prior devices. We will have them re-developed for a wider range of OS levels and devices.

JSanders, thanks for getting back. I would not be bugging you if they were not such great aps. They worked just fine for me in 4.6. 3G (the network is loaded up with iphone users taking up bandwidth) or not and a 1 gig data plan, I still prefer to use wap as it is faster. In the meantime I will use the browser short cut which still works fine.
Most of the other issues I was having with 5.0.0.411, have been worked through, so I am actually beginning to like 5.0. The big plus for me with 5.0 is having the corp (BES) e-mail in a separate folder, so I can ignor the personal stuff if I want to.

Thanks to you John Clark (and JSanders) for the updates. (Sorry I have been a pest, but I really missed them since upgrading my OS to 5.0.) These have been great shortcuts to the only site I need to look at for BB information.
