Default Email Indication but nO Email

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
I am using an 8900 Curve - I have 5 email addresses set up on it. Over the last 6 weeks or so the indicator at the top of the screeen has been telling me I still have email in one of my email inboxes - even tho the email box is totally empty.
It is now displaying 5 email messages.
I am certain that there is no email messages in any of my inboxes( read or unread).
I have carried out memory cleaning, I have rebooted the device, but it continues to display the icon for unread mail.
I am in Ireland on the o2 network.
Anybody see anything like this, or have any ideas that might help?
Many thanks,
M

Wirelessly posted (My Bold)

Did you check all of the individual folders AND the messages folder??
Because the indicator won't tell you there Is a message if there isn't.

You can try to remove your battery for a minute or so while the phone is on and let it sit.

Very rarely, the indicator doesn't calcel out after you read the messages. Its pretty rare tho

It could also be a BBM message. Have you checked there?

I second the battery pull. I have seen a false indication once or twice and the battery pull fixes it.

Also, have you looked specifically in your Saved Messages folder? e-mails have a way of sneaking in there due to mis-selecting an option in the messages menu.

Default New Indicator at top of screen (Blackberry Icon)

today, I see a new indicator at the top of my screen (next to the Clock). It's a Blackberry Icon (blue box w/4 dots like the logo) with a "1" next to it and a small red dot in the upper right corner.

What could this be, and where would I find the message?

I already checked my Email and SMS folders, and it still shows up.

thanks

John

I had similar problems occasionally, my one is 8900 on O2 as well.

Not sure whether it's the same case, I have set up 3 email accounts, so in there are 3 new email icons, one for each account I set up, there is also the default message icon which include emails from all accounts I think, sometimes even I delete all new emails in the main message folder, it seems few are left in the individual email message folder, so I have to manually clean it up.
