Every since I got 4.5 I havent received any texts. Does anyone know what causes this? Or do I have to go back to 4.2?

This is a known issue, and there is a fix posted somewhere around here, can't remember exactly where. Something about changing some settings and changing them back.

Might have been set priority to high and autotext to yes, save, then change back.

I dont have those options in the SMS Text options. Is the menu different with the different curves? I have the 8320 on Tmobile.

Those posts may not apply as they are for CDMA devices.

I hadn't heard of any OS induced sms text problems. Can you send a text message to yourself?

nope. I even tried sending a text to myself from a text website and my brother sent me a text but nothing happens. My texts worked fine before I upgraded to 4.5.0.44. Would the problem come from my memory being low? I currently have 5.04 mb after a battery pull and theres nothing really on my curve. I dont have any 3rd party apps right now. I had some before the upgrade and the texts was fine.

go to http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ax-memory.html to try and free up some memory. there is a program out that cleans up alot too. i think its called maxmem or something like that. just make sure you back up before using that program.

if that still doesnt work, try deleting your service books from OPTIONS>ADVANCED>SERVICE BOOKS.

after they are all deleted, go to OPTIONS>ADVANCED>HRT and hit menu and then register.


try texting after you complete these steps. if it still doesnt work, then hit up tmobile via 611 and complain =P

I freed some memory and upgraded os to .46 and nothing. i guess i have to call tmobile.

I norrowed it down to the blackberry being the issue. I put my sim into another phone and the texts worked perfectly in a simple old motorola phone.

I'm going to try and downgrade my OS. If this dont work I will try contacting RIM.

I downgraded my OS back to 4.2 and the sms texts work fine. I'm not sure why two version of 4.5 had a problem with it.

A couple of times I've gotten all the texts at once, but its been a couple of days since ive been able to receive an sms.
