Many are anticipating a release from apple in Q1, rumours were Q4 this year, but that didnt happen..
anyone looking forward to such a release?

Only if my iPod and BlackBerry spontaneously combusted simultaneously. Then I would see it as a sign from above..
Actually, I would never buy a "1.0" phone again. Whether it was the first RAZR or the first phone BlackBerry (the unmissed 5810) it takes time to get a phone right. RIM is just getting there.
Apple hit a home run with the iPod and it saved the company. I'm not sure an Apple phone is the right next step.

They have the urge to create something of that nature since their itunes store could be wirelessly to their disposal. I was thinking that maybe a sidekick style ipod, or just a data only device.

It is a natural convergence, but there are phone with iTunes built in already. And I don't think the sound quality of any phone is as good as an iPod. I still believe in fit for purpose devices. iPod, good digital camera, BlackBerry. But I don't carry a cell/mobile phone anymore....

If it had BlackBerry Connect I would. I like a lot of the "photos" I've seen of it though. Some people are pretty creative.

I would buy it because i am addicted to gadgets...lol i recently ordered the bb pearl no because i was un happy but because i neded something new and got tired of carying around a bunch stuff. so i jumped on the all in one bandwagon. hopefully i dont kill me self over sure type. but back to the topic. i think a apple phone/pda would be a great addition just because of the way they take pride in there product and tend no to just throw things in the market and hope they work. Also i have 2 mac's at home and it would be cool to get a dependable device that palys nice with my mac's with out any software to download

Apple makes clean stuff, so the phone might be worth getting. I'm very satisfied with my Pearl though.

Knowing me, I probably will get it and get rid of it in a few weeks.
Nothing last with me... only BlackBerry.

Me too! I always have to try something else only to end up with the blackberry again. But I must say... a phone made by apple would be almost too much temptation to resist.

I will never *EVER* buy or own another apple product as long as I live. They do not stand behind their products, which, BTW, aren't all they great to begin with.

btdown want to give any supportive evidence? I made the switch from companies that use micorsoft because THEY don't stand behind their product especially DELL... I have been very happy with my purchase of 6 Apple computers over the last year and half and purchased of 13+ ipods (I've got a BIG family). My hardware is GREAT my OS is awesome and I've have many friends i've converted over to apple that are very happy with their purchase. Stand behind their product? where else can you go in for IN store help not only with your cpu but ipod and any other apple branded product. Where else has a "creative studio" with people specifically trainined in photo shop etc. Yeah i thought so.
As for the iPhone we'll find out this week!

I'd stick with my Blackberry. If the new phone is anything like the iPod, then it will be overmarketed and underfeatured. Don't get me wrong, the iPod is a great device, but there are a lot better players out there for the price. On top of that, it's a 1.0 phone meaning a Motorola Q in sheep's clothing...lots of sales b/c of the hype but plenty of returns when it bugs out.
