Angry 8700G and T-Mobile Service???

Please Login to Remove!

Good Afternoon All,

Currently, I'm with T-Mobile with four lines. Three without contracts and one with a contract. I'm working in the Financial District in NYC in high rise building. However, I don't have any reception on my floor with my phone...only on the ground/street level. I've called T-Mobile Tech Support and issued a ticket for their engineers to find out the problem. Since there is residential and business service; just not my building there be no need to have more cell towers added/built.

Also, I'm working on starting my own business and need to have a reliable bb and service in order to respond to emails asap. Unfortunately, I can't wait to respond to potential clients as it would hurt my bottom line....I guess my question would be to do what??

Stay with T-Mobile, get the 8700g and deal with the intermittent service or go with another carrier?? Mind you, I get perfect service at home and just about everywhere else but at work 35 hours per week---Ouch, it can really hurt my start-up business.

Personally, I'd be trying out other carriers to see if any worked better in the office, as well as working at home and everywhere else....

Carrier with good coverage should be the most important.

Will carriers guarantee coverage in buildings in New York? They certainly won't here in Houston (certainly not without a major corporate contract or paying to subsidize the cost of a mini-cell)...

If coverage at work is important then by all means check out other carriers' coverage at your office!

Out here in LA where I live most people choose to go with verizon. They say verizon has good service. The plans can be a little high. If your tryng to get a business of the ground, you may need to go ahead and just pay. I have tmobile and my calls drop or go in and out sometimes but most of the time I'm BERRY'N anyway not talkn.

This is more an issue of cellular standard and spectrum [CDMA vs GSM] than a matter of carrier, with iDEN, GSM850, and CDMA800 leading the group for in-building penetration.
