I can wait for April...I do not know whether to go t-mobile or Cingular. Cingular has flat rate international data roaming, t-mobile charges my the kb. But I think I can tether with t-mobile, but don't know about the 8700.

T Mobile has unlimited international GPRS for $20 additional per month. I dont think they charge by the kb, unless I am misunderstanding something.

international plan from T-mo is lot cheaper and it is flat. Cingular says it is flat rate but it may not be.. because their charges vary by country some time.

I have almost no complaints about TMO, I was down in Australia for six months roaming on Telstra, who have recirpocal hotspot agreements in place getting charged $20/month. Obviously, who knows what the mobile data charges would be like but the last time I was overseas, I do not believe I was billed per kb on my BB, don't remember the specifics though.

BB international roaming rate for Cingular is $0.01 per KB. The varried charge is supposed to be for regular GPRS usage.

I remember T-Mobile was offering blackberries way before any of the other carriers. It's weird that they are so late in offering the 8700. Cingular's 90 day exclusive was over a couple of months ago, and it seems T-Mobile is lagging in the selection of phones it used to offer.

I am a TMO customer, and nobody can beat their data plan rates. But they need to step it up on getting the latest phones to their customers. I hate that they are always two steps behind Cingular.

Why do they (me) have to wait a few months?

Because a device like this will be in limited supply, and they want to use them to entice new customers first. They've already got you subscribed, so they figure you can wait.

Ahh crapola - any idea why? Also I meant to ask - will the T-Mobile 8700 take advantage of the T-Mobile Edge?

I heard that being military could get me an unlocked phone from one of TMO or Cingular.

It would be great if I could get:
Fast Internet on the Blackberry;
Flate rate for Internet access anywhere in the world where offered;
Tethering capability worldwide for a flat rate.

Is there one such animal?

As mentioned before, we have a very, VERY large account with TMO and I spoke to our account rep today. Hope that justifies my replying with the date push.

Default Call Quality 8700 vs 7105t

I have the 7105t and the call quality if poor. Does anyone know if the 8700 has a better phone than the 7105t?
Thanks.

I think the 90 day exclusive started Nov 1, so essentially they are about right with almost 2 months ago..
