Hmmm...Firewall settings are locked(IT Policy @ work) so I don't really want to screw with that. I know I didn't have to fool with at when I installed Opera 4.0.

This sucks..

Why is the Pearl 8100 the only model listed? Is there reason to think the new version won't work in other Pearls?

I got the link to my desktop, but have been bothered by it not having the Pearl 8130 (only the 8100) as an option. I went back and used BB browser to mini.opera.com and using that link, it said it couldn't recognize my phone model. That's bothersome as this is the new version, and these phones aren't all that new. Given what I'm reading above, it makes me think I should not try it, as others have found it doesn't work, and the can't get back to 4.0Has anyone tried it on an 8130?

Can anyone post the version for OS 4.2? The one I have downloaded from operamini.com is "nojsr75" version (e.g. for OS 4.1). May be this will be done only OTA? But I use generic data plan, so I can't install OTA software.

Now that you mention it... no... it doesn't.
Also, wasn't this update supposed to allow you to input text into search boxes and input field without leaving the screen? The version I have still takes me to another screen.

It seems that they put on their site the version for OS 4.1 (e.g. without JSR-75 support). I've tried to download it for different BB models and every time get this "not complete" version. May be OTA version is correct. Who istalled Opera 4.1 OTA, do you have "Save page" feature?

I never could get the OTA to work. It kept sending me in circles, or reverting to the destop dl instructions.
I never did receive the sms link to download either.
(According to the about section in help) The version I have installed is 4.1.11320

I went to Operamini.com forums and was told to use the Pearl 8100 version for my 8130. Actually, OTA, it never told me which to use. It couldn't tell my model, and said "use this" which I did. It is working fine. I did it OTA, and it has Save page. If you can't do it OTA, the first mistake I had that sent me in circles was using Opera 4.0 to do it. I think you have to use BB browser to upgrade your existing Opera 4.0 with 4.1.

For those who got their app to work, can you check something out for me?

When you go to enter the web address, do you have the option to "paste"? Mine does not, which sucks because that's a real time saver.

I just found out how to add the urls. Go to Enter Address > Scroll Down > Insert Symbol and then it will flip the page for you as previous version of the app did.

I don't have BB data plan, so I can't use BB Browser to upgrade Opera. The only way is using Desktop manager. But the downloaded files from operamini.com have "operette-hifi-nojsr75.alx" and "operette-hifi-nojsr75.cod" names. So I need "operette-hifi-jsr75.cod" file.

it would be nice to add a feature to copy and paste text on website just like bbrowser...shame opera mini can't do this yet. if yes, it would beat bbrowser hands down for me.

Since that post, i went on Operaminis forum and they said it should work fine for 8130 and it did. Don't know why it isn't for your 8100.
