Default I really need help!!!

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, I hate that my first post is a "help me" post, and hopefully I can make up for that later on, but I have a major problem. I have a 7100i (yes I know...old....cut me some slack I like it) and earlier tonight ( like 5 hrs ago earlier ) I was installing a new app through the desktop manager and something happened and the 7100 said something about an error with an option to click....so I did. After doing this it went to reboot but wouldn't it would just stay on the hourglass for...well...hours. Then, after trying some different things to get it to wake up, it started doing the hourglass for 30 seconds, go black, reboot, repeat thing. After an hr or so of that I finally got it to connect to the Desktop Manager (which it wasn't doing since the error that started this) and did like a mass delete/wipe of everything (that's all I really could do, it wouldn't let me do anything else). And I have the latest OS for it on my laptop so I wasn't too worried about it.....till when it loaded the OS I wasn't showing anything in my advanced options but "Phone" and two other OS bassed things. Didn't show browser or anything. the phone has no browser showing on its main menu. Bluetooth is no longer on the main menu...basically EVERYTHING is gone. What I want to know is, is there a way that I can get this resolved? Like I said I have the latest OS for this thing on my laptop and it loads fine....so to speak. So is it fixable or am I up the proverbial creek without a paddle? Any ideas on how to possibly fix it? I really need my phone cause I use it for work and personal use. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Start here:

How do I wipe the BlackBerry using Jl Cmder? - BlackBerryFAQ

You will then need to go back and reload the phone

Right click on the installer and run as Administrator.

Ok, I got it to run, but it won't connect to my 7100i for some reason. I have followed the instructions on the link posted previously EXACTLY and it will not connect to my phone for some reason. Any other ideas? I hate to be a pain in the ass but I really need this fixed.

Follow these steps to the letter:

What to do next if Jl Cmder will not connect and wipe - BlackBerryFAQ

Be patient, it could take up to 20 times before it connects.

I did what you said, and it wouldn't do anything cause it said "the device doesn't have enough space, please select fewer applications" or something like that. I really need to completely wipe the entire blackberry to nothing but a board, some buttons, a screen and a case but I can't get the JL_Cmder to connect to wipe it clean. Anyone have any other ideas of software that can wipe this thing or how to get the JL Cmder to connect? Cause I am about to the point of throwing this phone in the river and changing service providers just to get a different phone. I have been dealing with this since it first messed up (creeping up on 24 hrs soon) and I am at my whits end.

I understand your frustrations. The issue is that you installed an application on the phone that is most likely not supported for your phone. As you've already stated, the 7100 is a VERY old device with VERY limited memory.

At the screen where it says please select fewer applications, uncheck the application that you installed as well as other applications that you may not use, ie. BBM, Tasks, Notes, etc. That should clear up the memory and get your device up and running again.

Tried that as well, still no dice. I need a way to completely take this thing down to nothing and do a fresh install of the OS cause something isn't right in here. I am showing WAY MORE than enough memory to install/overwrite the things I need, but its not letting me do it saying there "isn't enough space" when I am sitting here looking at the numbers and there is enough space to do it 4 times and still have room left over. Any ideas?

What happens when you uncheck applications and hit next?

Even if you have the memory, it doesn't mean the application you wish to install is compatible with your 7100i. If not, it could cause issues.

the app is long gone since last night when it, after doing the never-ending reboot, finally connected and I deleted just about everything off of the phone. Only thing on it now are the basic OS (no browser or anything just enough to give me my UI) and thats about it. Problem is, without everything that comes on it originally, it isn't working. The app is no longer there, I need this thing wiped clean. when I delete everything on there except what I am trying to install (the OS) and hit next it gives me the same "not enough space" BS and I know for a fact its the right OS cause I got it from Blackberry directly... Not to mention this isn't the first time I have used it. When I got the phone I wiped it with the handset and then re-installed the OS with no problems....now...I'm not so lucky.

Go to Options > Security Options > General Settings > Click the trackwheel > Wipe Handheld.

Try that, and then try reloading the OS again:
