Default [Firmware 4.0.0.188] Purify the desktop

Please Login to Remove!

I do not use the mail service with my 7230.

On top of the desktop "Data connection refused" appears.

Do you know a way to get rid of that message on the start page.

Any hacks available?

Thanks.

I believe its because data services are set to on, and being yhou dont have access to data services, its telling you its refused.
Find data services and set to OFF.

I went throught the complete Preferences, but I could not find any category which is named as "data service" or likewise.

My hope was, that there are "special configuration files" (hacks, workarounds) to disable certain points of the start page, which cannot be disabled by the regular GUI.

Other examples:
The icons "key lock", "Aktivate Net", "Shut down"

I never use these icons. I like to gain space and "purity" on the start page.

Im not familar with your model, however its usually located under options - mobile network.

No, you can hide those icons...but not hack them out of the OS.

@MidnightDraven

There is one option "Netz" (German), which could be translated as mobile network.
In this dialog there are two entries:
The name of the provider of my SIMcard and the modus of choosing the network (automatically and manually).

There is no option to swicht out "data service".
Even a right click with the trackwheel does not offer any more options.

Is it really possible to configure a BB as "telephone only" - without any push services, without internet access?

To the icons:
I know the general option to hide icons. But the three, I mentioned, could not be disabled.

Yesterday I found the application launcher 8http://www.software-for-blackberry.com/launcher.html).

The existence of launcher shows, that an extensive manipulation of the desktop is possible. But the app launcher does not allow a lot of customization - which is my issue.

What I need is an application which is highly configurable.

If anyone knows something about that, please let me know.

You have been told there isn't one. The security of the os will not allow that to be modified. The only parts that can be modified can be done by making a custom theme.

A theme cannot remove the data services line no matter what. End of story
