Which BlackBerry browser do you use and why? Is there really a difference between them?

I personally use the Blackberry browser with Mircrosoft IE emulation, as it is slightly more compatible with more websites than actual Blackberry emulation.

How do you designate the IE emulation?

In the actual browser, click the wheel, go to options >> browser config >>Emulation mode. Click there and you will see a few choices.

Thumbs down Why different browsers?

The recent poll highlights something that has puzzled me from my very first BB. I am unable to find a good explanation of the diferent browsers and when/what situations each should be used. I have simply hidden the "BlckBerry Browser" and the "Download Fun" icons.

Can someone "in the know" clarify why we have different icons / browsers that seem to do the same thing? Also the previous reply to this message talked about the MSIE emulation option. Can someone elaborate?

It's a BES browser that comes with MDS and Exchange Hosting.

Is there a significant advantage to that browser? We host our own Exchange/BES server. Do you know if we can get a hold of that browser?

Then I think you should have your own browser.

I didn't see anything in the BES setup that would allow us to have our own browser. I should probably ask about this in the BES Admin section.

Is there anything special about the Exchange My Mail browser or is it just a normal browser re-branded?

For some reason the BES browser (the one with a 'server' on it) doesn't seem to work on all occasions. I simply hid it and the Cingular browser, the Internet browser seems OK. I enabled JS.

The only difference I've ever seen in my limited use of the IE emulator was when I sent a ringtone as an attachment to my gmail account. I went to my account with the blackberry browser and it wouldn't give me any option to download the attachment. I then switched it to the IE emulator and I was able to successfully download the ringtone. Anyone else find any differences between the browser and the two emulators?
