Default BB 8120 Won't playback video it captured itself

Please Login to Remove!

Alright all, I just put a 2gb card in my 8120 and tried to capture a video, when I try to play the video back it immediatly comes up with a "error playing." message in the top right corner of the screen.

Any ideas ? Was the video taken in the wrong format or something?

have you tried to pull the battery on the device? with the device powered on, pull the battery for 30 seconds and then replace the battery. let the device boot up and try playing the video.

welcome to the forums.

Also, make sure you're using the latest OS version. Not sure I recommend 4.5.0.37 for the TMo 8120 but the latest version prior to that.

I have found that If the video is too long this will happen also whether it was recorded on the BB or was downloaded from Blueapple.mobi, tinytube.net etc. It generally fails at around 10 or more minutes in length. That is my experience on the 8120.

Do you mean captured by the BB or something else and then loaded into the sd....

I have tried all different settings and res sizes, this is what i have had the best luck with....

I have a 8130 not sure if this will work for you on 8120 you may have to go (H263)

MPEG4 Video (H264) 240x176
AAC 32000Hz stereo 64Kbps

wish i could have a bigger resolution but i'll take what i can get...

Used Nero recode and used the Video/Resize/custome resize 240x176

J.
