I'm using
www.beiks.com/download/ls1481b.jad on my 8800 with the Rogers OS and it just crashed. I simply created a new message, wrote teste in the subject and test msg in the body. Then I proceeded to spell check. When it came to teste I corrected it, then when it came to msg I wrote in a correction of message and clicked the ball. That crashed it with the usual error ... I've copied the error from the event log:

Well even bad news is good news in our case as it tells us stuff we didn't know.

I understand you may be getting tired of all this and honestly I am getting tired too.

Version 1.482 has a royal patch for that error; it doesn't *solve* it, it just capures it so that it does not show up; as a result, it shouldn't show up, but the interface of the email application when you get back to it may look strange. Let me know.

a) testing with "testt" crashes with the public 1.4 release from Welcome to BEIKS Mobile!

b) testing with "testt" does not crash with the 1.482 release from above

c) when corrected with "test" from the suggestion list, the 1.482 version properly restores the text in the email body field upon return from LexSpell; that's crucial.

These should conclude the official part and we switch to full-throttle beta testing of the new 1.5 version.

In addition:

d) the beta tester wants activation codes for some BEIKS applications from http://blackberry.beiks com (or www.mobile.beiks.com)

e) the beta tester's PIN number

There is one slight chance we have messed up with the patch...do not forget we can not replicate any of what you are seeing.

But if all is right, you should not be able to crash this version no matter how you bend it.

The Save/Discard/Cancel should be in place as well, along with the new features from version 1.5, like subject correction and configurable word lists.

Bend this version all you can and tell us about all the other things you like and especially dislike about it.

With the dreaded 8800 bug (still unclear if it's ours or RIM's, but we'll follow up on that) behind, we're focusing on releasing 1.5 publicly ASAP...
