Please help.

Did a wireless update yesterday and now the lock icon has gone missing.
I've searched EVERY folder, looked in every nook and cranny, still no lock icon.

I have to have a lock icon or my phone will purse-dial Egypt.

I don't know what you upgraded to... Options > About.

You can set a side convenience key to lock the device. Options > Screen/Keyboard.

J, I updated my wireless to version 5.0.0.508. It was an update that popped up on the screen with a red asterisk.

I tried to use a convenience key (great suggestion) however, there is no option to lock the device anywhere on the phone now. It seems to have disappeared with the upgrade.

Several recent OS upgrades have had screwy bugs with locking the keyboard. Best I can advise is to either wait for another upgrade or downgrade your device to an older OS.

I had the same problem! Lock icon is completely gone. I went ahead and created a password for my phone (options>password). This makes the icon come back, so you can again manually lock phone and have timed lock outs when phone is not in use, and all you have to do is enter your password. Two extra keys but probably safer!

The Lock Icon does not appear until you add a password on some newer OS's
