8350i DOA - 3 in a row

I am upgrading from a 7100i to a Telus 8350i and have now had three units arrive that can't be charged. All three show no charging icon and run dead while hooked up to the wall charger. When they are hooked up to the USB the clock comes up on the screen and they charge for 30 seconds before stopping.
I have tried multiple chargers in multiple locations with the same results. The last one that was send out was checked by the rep before it was shipped. Same result. I have left them charging for an and overnight with the same end result. I have tried charging with a SIM, without a SIM, with an active SIM .....
Can I be missing something obvious? I have tried 3 other units from within the office on the chargers that came with the new 8350i's and they all charge fine.
