Default The "D" next to the check mark in SMS text message

Please Login to Remove!

On some text messages I have sent, there is a capitol D above the check mark next a sent message. I have looked all over and have not found anything to explain what it signifies. Anybody know?

I don't think so. There are other sent messages that don't have the D there. And they were received and replied to.

It is. It means Delivered.
Yes, sometimes you dont get that, but the person gets the message.
Thats a problem with the delivery report from your network.

That's unfortunate, because it's correct.

IIRC some carriers don't support them as well.

Delivery reports can be activated on the Blackberry from the Options/Settings menu - Go to > SMS > Delivery reports (on or off setting).

However the receipt of a delivery report is dependant upon two other factors - that the network you are connected to (or roaming on) provides delivery reports (inbound) and that the network you have delivered the message TO (termination network), also supports delivery reports. Most networks now do. There is no charge for delivery reports on networks I am aware of.

Yes, you may like it, but you may not realise that it is offensive. That lady (Lindy Chamberlain) had her child taken and served time in prison here in Australia. She was later aquitted and now lives in Oregon.

LMAO, literally! What made it more funny is that it was true story, and I had no clue. I paused laughing and began again. I feel like shite now cause I laughed. I'm sure it wasn't meant to make fun or hurt the childs' memory in any way, iporter69. To be honest I didn't read the news on it and thought the mother died.

Back on topic SMS delivery report used to be initiated even from normal "dumb" phone with e.g. "111Just a test" with no spaces between the 1's and normal text. Rogers pulled this just after 1yr after purchasing Fido/Microcell. I'm going to test iporter69's solution though, hopefully it works on Telus.

I have noticed that I get a D on messages within my own carrier(Verizon), but not always with other carriers
