If you're on a corporate BES data connection you might be excluded from adding personal email accounts through the IT Policy they push onto your BB. Nothing for it but to accept it as a limitation, or to get off the BES and remove the IT Policy.

Warning: Do not remove the IT Policy if your device is a company-issued one. And don't try to circumvent any IT Policy. Both these things are usually grounds for immediate termination. Companies have zero sense of humor where their information security is concerned.

Thanks all, got that working.

Now, the blackberry setup up another email folder with my gmail mail. The only problem is that whatever happens in the gmail folder also gets replicated to the main blackberry mail folder. How do I keep them separate?

TIA

you can't.
Messages folder is a catch all for all messages.

With OS v5 you have the ability to set what you want to see in the Messages folder.

OK. So if I am running the Blackberry Professional software v4.1. So if I go ahead and upgrade the hand units to v5 with the desktop software, will everything still work? Also, where do I get v5?

As for where to get V5, check the 9630 board. There is a stickied thread that gives you that information.

I'm reasonably certain it is compat. with BPS.

Ok Thanks All.

Now is there way of creating rules or filters to prevent the gmail emails from merging with regular BB emails? This new user swears that at her old company she was able to keep personal and work emails separate, she has no idea how this was setup. She was using a blackberry Curve.

Thanks.

Just to end this thread. What I have done in the end is setup another email account to go through webmail into the company. This way she has one mailbox for gmail and one for company emails. A waste though not to be using the BES. If you have a better solution please post.
