I picked up a new 8220 flip at Costco Monday for $79.99 with a $50 mail in rebate. They ring up the phone for $249.99 with a $170 coupon discount (so you pay sales tax on the $249.99). There is also an $18 "new phone fee" which will be added to my next T-Mobile bill. Costco includes a Cigarette lighter adapter, a cheap leather holster and a no-name bluetooth headset with the phone. They were listing the same prices for new service and customers eligible for a phone upgrade. Both require a 2 year service commitment. The phone is available in Black or Red. At this price, I decided it was time to upgrade from my 8100 Pearl.

I just got this deal with t-mobile at costco as well (on sunday 12/7/08). I was just about to submit my rebate but I noticed the salesperson added $24.99 for Web & Msg 400 per month on my existing plan. So now my monthly total (as shown on paper) is $84.98 which is the original $59.99 + $24.99. I called the person up and asked her about it and she said "oh I have to show the Optional Features with the $24.99 in order for you to get the $50 rebate"). Now i'm not sure if this is fishy or not. Anyway, she said my plan should be the same (which is 59.99 + i have 9.99 for text messaging) and not to worry what shown on the total monthly charge of $84.98. Just send it in to rebate center and I should be okay. Anybody has this and is this right?

$28.88 at walmart, no rebate, plus after 90 days you get a $50 walmart giftcard, so it's more like -$21.12

I really kicked t-mo's rump though. I had a bb plan and you need to register a new bb plan with that phone. Well my roommate (I added him) didnt want email or internet or anything, so I switched my plan and dropped EVERYTHING, swapped to a myfaves and got the bb for the new line. Then my line was just phone. Got home, called tmo and switched the plans between phones and voila
