I had a similar problem on a camera, your flash card is borked, there are some utilities that will fix it but honestly go grab another flash card its faster and will save you a few strands of hair as you dont have a card reader.

Misho, read this again:

Quote:
If you are using a windows machine, insert the card in a card reader, open 'my computer', right click on the card, select properties, select the tools tab, then select 'check now.' I don't know if windows has the capability to repair 'disk' errors on a sd card, but maybe. Try and see. At the very least write down what it reports. Then, if you don't have any other file utilities, at least you can good and try to find a utility to fix the errors or at least possibly recover some files.
The only difference is you don't have a card reader, so connect the blackberry to the usb and use mass storage mode.

Another thought, look in options on the blackberry. Where you would select to format the card, see if you also have a menu item to repair the card. If you do, try that before you try the suggestion above.

I'm betting the card is hosed. But if you can't get any files off it yourself and you have some valuable files, consider getting some hands on help from someone experienced at file recovery.

Total commander? Do you mean JL_CMDER? If that is what you are thinking of, then no, that isn't going to help you with this problem.

I don't know much about disk utilities anymore, or data recovery from damaged media. I do know there are some disc recovery utilities that will diagnose for free, but you need to buy in order to unlock and use the recovery functions; but that's pretty much all I know. See what others say.

If it is worth it to you, my recomendation is look in your local directory for any shop that does computer repair, contact them, and maybe at least get a lead on an outfit that can give you some advice and a cost estimate.

Otherwise, google.

Good luck.

Try recuva - it's a free utility that's highly regarded for undeleting/recovering files. You can find it at Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File and Disk Recovery - Free Download. Connect your BB in mass storage mode and launch recuva. It will attempt to recover the files off your memory card.

Good luck,
