@the OP : The BB Services rates are pretty low now for Aircel and Docomo @ Rs.399 ( USD $9)per month (for unlimited usage). Use the mobile number portability option and switch your service provider.
@ Aiharkness : I use a BIS Plan with Airtel but it is true that some apps do work without BIS plan on certain BB handsets. I have a prepaid 3G sim from BSNL that works on my BB 9780 without the BIS plan. Had taken it to BSNL service centre where they entered the APN settings under Options -> Device ->Advanced System settings -> TCP IP . User name and password was left blank . Everything including the default browser (except BBM) works !!! Tried the same settings with the BSNL sim card on my friends BB 9700 and 8900 but nothing works ! Why it works on the BB 9870 has left me stumped ... maybe the more tech savy guys out here can figure it out

As for me, I'm happy that I have backup access when I am in remote places where only BSNL has coverage !

dan.george, of course some apps work without BIS/BES. There is an article at blackberryfaq.com on using a BlackBerry on a generic data plan using the carrier apn which discusses the very thing you are talking about in regard to the BSNL app. The issue in this thread, however, has to do with the third-party apps that for whatever reason have been developed to use (indeed require) the blackberry apn.

On the issue with the BSNL app on your friends BlackBerry, the problem could be the result of any number of factors. At any rate, it is beside the point.

I think I'm going to head over to the Infiniti dealership near me and simply "enable" one of the new QX56 models parked on the lot. Hey, it's not stealing, right?

If you are making car payments to some bank, some dealer, or some auto company -- just so long as you are paying somebody, anybody, for a car, any car -- I think it will be ok.

you still make me laugh

last note, I am sick of repeating myself on this forum , until any of you show me that changing my browser config is a breach of end user agreement or something like that, I dont see how on earth I am doing something wrong or illegal as im paying for my bandwidth and NOT using BB services.

If someone can show me that? I shall eat my words, but still use this hack

Obviously your very young, or at least your mindset is.

Try n help someone out and get bashed here!

The apps WORK as stated, no one showed me otherwise.
Same goes for the browser hack, show me its breach of end user agreement or something, not just negative speculation coz i use the word hack!

I didn't insult anyone here, yet the bashing gets worse.

Im out of here, check back in 3 months again and have a giggle

you all seem to enjoy posting way more then me anyway.
