Default Filter SPAM on BB?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

I just received 2 spam emails on my Yahoo account that Yahoo filtered as spam so they didn't end up in my Yahoo inbox, however, I do receive them on my BB. Is there any way to prevent this?

Nope. SPAM has to be filtered at the server level. How do you have your Yahoo account set up? Don't know if you can set a filter or not since you never know the sender or the subject.

Wirelessly posted (8320 Titanium)

Dubdub, it sounds like the mail WAS filtered by yahoo into the spam box, but it was somehow still pushed to the BB as regular mail...

Ledzep, is that right?

It would depend on if it was pushed to the BB before it got pushed by Yahoo to the inbox. I don't know how Yahoo filters SPAM. If anyone does, that would probably be part of the answer.

Yes, that is what surprised me as a went to Yahoo to report it as spam but it had been captured by Spam Guard and automatically deleted.

I don't know if this is specific to Gmail or not but the plugin enabled on current BIS, I'm able to highlight the spam email and select:
1. Menu> Report As Spam
2. Menu> Filter> select Spam (listed as a subfolder to Inbox)
on my 9700.

Oddly enough the emails I selected and set to #1 above actually puts the email in the Spam folder online to the gmail cloud server, but its specific to the [email address] not for all @emailaddress.com by the same listing.

Maybe we'll see BIS 3.0 do better than this for all email cloud services.
