Ted Bundy was also convicted, while this man was released because of a complete lack of evidence. Perhaps you'd like to see a police state where once arrested you're thrown in the slammer forever?

LOL - thats awesome.

I think to compare Al Bundy to Lakhdar Boumediene might be closer than Ted Bundy. Al was always at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Well, it's more like they didn't even bother to attempt to try him because they realized how flimsy their case really was.

As to the other part of your comment, while I don't have a death wish I am quite frankly quite willing to accept some increased risk of my own demise in order to live in a free as opposed to repressive society.

+1.

Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Oh give me a break you cant quote a man who lived more than 200 hundred years ago. So many freedoms have been lost since this was said its not even funny.

Can you carry a gun any where you want?
Can you drink any where you want?

Please spare me these types of quotes when you have lost more freedoms under the current gov ( not Party)its not funny. Its only going to get worse.

and I'm sure he would quote a guy from 200 years ago in defending that freedom as well.

Only if it fits his argument. Otherwise it would be wrong.

Not really because I already carry a Gun every where I go. I have a concealed carry permit.

And I very rarely drink.

These were just the first that came to mind. Im just saying you can not quote anything related to freedom from 200 years ago. Those are times long gone. never to be regained under any administration

Now that just doesn't make any sense at all. One can quote information relating to freedom from the 15 century that would ring true today. Just as one can quote information on freedom from one year ago. The patriots that founded this country wrote freedom into the constitution. Are you saying that isn't relevant today?

I guess the only thing relevant to Dawg from that period is the second amendment.

I think freedom is timeless, all the way back as far as you can go.

No because people like test want to condemn the constitution and take our rights away. The constitution is great and should be left untouched but Obama and People like Test will do what ever they can to destroy those rights just because they don't like something, or think average American citizens doesn't have the right to things the Constitution guarantees.

So why quote a 15th century statesmen today when the freedoms these gentlemen wrote in are in harms way. Or are no longer guaranteed?

First thoughts are important in that they define what you consider important -- what immediately comes to mind. I notice that freedom of speech and religion did not make the grade. And FYI your concealed carry permit could disappear in a heartbeat--that's not tied to the 2nd amendment.

Perhaps to you the rights espoused by the founding fathers are not relevant; certainly that would appear to be true because you are quite quick to say that everybody who you oppose should lose all their rights and be incarcerated forever without due process (trying to get back on thread track). Some of us, however, feel that the constitution is a vital document that defines who we are as a people and should not be trashed. Are you really so naive that you think that the slippery slope of abandoning due process will not ultimately ensnare you and that little piece of Georgia heaven that defines the world as you know it?
