Default Possible to get XM radio on BB?

Please Login to Remove!

I was wondering if there is an app or something that would allow me to listen to XM radio on my BB 8830?

the xstreamxm.com/mobile doesn't work without media player I believe and I think when you go to the actual XM radio site it requires iframes?

Please help, I need Opie and Anthony!!

Thanks, Jared

I think it can be done on a Windows Mobile device, but not a BB.

They were suspended for 30 days, May 15th to June 15th. They're back now.

On AT&T you can get the "Streaming Radio" application and its actually XM Radio.

It came installed on my Curve 8300. Though it really needs full signal to effectively stream. Once I dropped a bar or two it started buffering like crazy... We need Wifi and 3G on our blackberrys!

Is the at&t streaming radio included with your blackberry data plans or does it cost more?

Also has anyone tried streaming any other internet radio stations. I read where the curve supports Windows Media Audio, so I wasn't sure if it worked with online streaming.

I loaded the XM radio app on my curve using the pre-installed icon but I've yet to here anything come out of it. I was excited that the option was there but the lack of actual sound or anything other than what looks like a splash screen has been anti-climactic. :/

It takes a lot of bandwidth to stream XM. I don't thing EDGE connections really have enough to make it really usable.

When I launch the pre-installed icon it takes me to a license agreement, I accept that and it takes me to a screen with a picture of the app and a choice to try the 3 day trial. I choose that and it loads the app OTA and reboots the device. When it comes back up I launch it again, it takes me through two screens, one warning about data usage and the other explaining the volume controls. After that it's XM Radio splash screen infinitely with no sound and the only option is to exit. I've left it for more than an hour and it does nothing.

I was seriously ready to subscribe to this but now hearing about the choppiness and being unable to even experience even that level of audio, it's doubtful that I'll get it.

Just as an additional note, I tried this again from my work since I have 4 of 4 bars when I'm here. It actually worked, although as others said it wasn't that good. It's pretty choppy and the sound quality is a bit grainy. If this is the best I can do with 4 bars then I'm not gonna buy the service. If I could at least get no choppiness with 2 bars that would be acceptable.

This is the internet streaming XM, not the satellite connected (there is no XM receiver chip in the phone) XM, same as you can do on your desktop/laptop PC.
see XM Radio - XM Radio Online
