Over the past month or so, I'm having Wifi issues with my Curve 8520.
When at home, anywhere in the house the Wifi connection keeps dropping out.

When it does work, i can be browsing then all of a sudden my browsing is interupted as there is no Wifi connection available.

I don't have problems with my router and my wife has the exact same phone and there hasnt been any problems at all with her's.

Could anyone please suggest any ideas as to what would be causing this problem?

This might help. It solved my wifi problem, which was a hard crash when connecting in a Starbucks or (Canadian) Second Cup location.

I turned off Bluetooth.

It might work for you.
