Hey, has anyone been able to convince tmobile to provide the unlocking code when your not a customer of them? What if you plead that your going out of country? Any tips or hints on what to do?

If you're not a customer, wireless carriers generally don't help you unlock it, from what I've heard/read.

Nope. They only unlock their own handsets for their own customers. There is no pleading of any king that you can do to change this.

Best bet if you're not on TMO and want a TMO phone is to either 1) buy it already unlocked or 2) buy it locked and factor the cost of having it unlocked into the total price of the phone. If you got it from a friend or someone who is on TMO, you could ask them to unlock it for you but they must still be a current customer, have been a customer for at least 90 days, and their account must be current.

The poster who pointed you to horizon wireless is probably giving you the best advice you'll get on this.
