So I have been trying out this sportypal for some time now, works quite good, with providing accurate info for the speed, distance, max speed, climb ... The only thing that need is to connect through Wi-fi to upload the workout after finishing.

Hello

I have just upgraded to the Bold and looking forward to it coming I am in UK though but considering AmazeGPS - will that work in UK and give me UK Directions, in miles/yards and do the directions whilst walking too?

I think AmazeGPS will work in the UK, but I do know that Nav4All supports the UK as well as Gokivo.

In fact, I don't see Gokivo listed in the OP at all, might want to add it! You can download it from appworld, just search for "gokivo" and it will come up. They say the trial is 14 days, but I've been using it for a few months now and it's still working fine! It's a very nice app overall, and I believe it's actually the same software underneath as the VZNavigator program that Verizon peddles on their devices.

Here's a link to Gokivo's BB info page, no OTA links here but again, you can get it in appworld:

Default WeTravel

Another application missing from the OP is WeTravel, at we-travel.co.cc

It's under development but some people do indicate that it's working on blackberry, with OpenSourceMap data on an SD card. The latest BB news for this product appears to be in the forum thread at we-travel.co.cc/joomla/index.php?option=com_kunena&Itemid=18&func=view&ca tid=1&id=3616&limit=10&limitstart=340&lang=en

(Sorry; can't post links since I'm new here.)

Also another post included a link to the chinese application at gpslook.net. From Google Translations of the site, it looks pretty usable, but there are only chinese maps for now...

Pardon me for this double post, but I just posted the following message about Google Maps 3.2.1 not being able to find my location in the google maps 2.x thread, and I don't know why that doesn't show up as a new post, so I'm placing it in this thread too:

- - - -
I've installed ver 3.2.1 on my T-Mobile 8320 and am having the same problem as other people mentioned having with earlier versions. The phone is paired to a freedom keychain gps, satellites found, location on, permissions on, all that, but when I go into Google Maps my location is off by a mile or so. Does anyone have the url to download the link so that My Location will work accurately with this latest version of Google Maps?

Default which one works for the BB 8900

I personally keep at least three on my device at all times; TeleNav (because it is just the best, and it works!), Google Maps, and WinLiveSearch (has great search capability, sometimes finds stuff that Google won't).
could you please tell me which one works for the BB 8900 and if you have a link to download it from

OK - the two best free apps for the Blackberry have gone rogue - AmAzeGPS now charges a subscription and Nav4All has been killed by Nokia.

What other freebies that are comparable are still out there?

I think it's about time to close this thread and start a new sticky with the latest.

The list does seem a bit dated.

Default Blackberry Tracking With Zest Tracking Ltd

They handle 20 Blackberries that we needed lone worker protection and GPS tracking installed on. It was all done remotely and they are at the end of the phone with any problems. We operate a console with full reporting down to 10feet every ten seconds.
Zest Tracking Limited are the best Blackberry tracking company we came across and beleive me there are a lot of poor providers out there. Zest have got it bang on. The are based in the UK amd are no.1 and 2 on UK Google. No.6 Google Global.
They are a business to business provider.

I've used Blackstar, a little, and w/ the current weather option, it appeals to me. I may incur some cost w/ data charges but I'm not really sure if I actually have.....duh. Otherwise it was free and accurate.

I wish I could use the blackberry as a GPS for a MS program - Streets & Trips. Is that possible? Anyone?

Default How To Go From VZNavigator Version6 to Version 5?

I have VZNavigator Version 6 but want to go back to Version 5. Anyone have any suggestions how to get 5 back on? I did backup my blackberry but am I able to restore just that app from an .ipd file (assuming it was backed up) or anywhere I can find it on-line? Thanks
