Default New install of BES Pro: some issues

Please Login to Remove!

I spent 30 minutes typing a huge detailed "my BES isn't working right" post, then went ahead and started from scratch (user acct, permissions, install, etc).

Everything looks to be running right (all of the services, Manager software, etc). All of the "test connectivity" thingys work. However, i can't get past activating a device. I create the user, they get the password in their inbox (at their desk), I run the activation process on the device, enter their password, they get the email with the .DAT file, but that's where it stops.

Any thoughts?

I spent HOURS on the phone with BB support yesterday with no success. We recreated service account, set all of the permissions everywhere, etc. etc. but we are still at the same state: users get the .DAT email but BES & Exchange don't seem to work together to deal with that email.

Any ideas of what is preventing this?
Thanks tons!

another side thought....would having Windows Mobile devices interacting with Exchange cause problems? There are mobile settings in Exchange like OMA etc...could those be part of the problem?

check whether the activation email (the one that is send from the BB when you type the email address and password that was provided in the email) ends up in the user's inbox.

if the email arrives but stays in the inbox, check if the blackberry agent process is running on the BES. taskmanager, processes, check processes by all users.
if the bbagent isn't running, it might be seen as a thread by windows.

rightclick my computer, properties, tab advanced, go to performance settings, than tab data execution prevention and add the blackberry agent.exe to the exeption list.

If the BB agent.exe process is running, it might well be permission issue. (check numerous posts on this forum.
