Have fun with it! I've read the technical spez.. It'll be a cool device!
Together with BES 5.0 it'll be an fantastic combination. Forget Windows mobile, repligo, GPS-Pucks, Extra Navigation Software etc.. I think, 2007 becomes a fantastic BlackBerry-Year.

Greets from Europe

T-Mobile???? Aw Geeze, I was hoping for Cingular!

Care to post the tech specs of the devices and BES 5.0?

...or send me something in PM (interested in BES 5.0 a lot, as well)?

T-Mobile is really stepping up their line of phones. Glad to see! The first pic of the 8100 should be with t-mobile because it looks like is cousin the 8100 the other two should go with cingular and vodafone

Crap, I hope Cingular doesn't go with the tired, ugly silver look AGAIN.

From a pure design standpooint, I think it looks incredible. Nice clean lines, symmetry from keyboard to phone buttons to screen. That's purely from an artistic perspective, however. From a user's perspective, its market is exactly what you say it is ... Treo-users. Neither keyboard is made with adult hands in mind! With the number of emails I have to write or respond to on the blackberry which demand a couple of semi-brief paragraphs, there's no way in hell that business users will go for it. The 'texters' likely will, as will students, so in my estimation Blackberry is simply broadening its marketbase which is a wise business move Let's face it ... they have us already, so where to go from that base is what they're now exploring with this as well as the Pearl.

Just my $.02

OK...so the second set of pics, with the apparent Tmo version on the right...is there a reason why the Z and the Y are swapped on the keyboard?

Weird...

No, because it is a QWERTZ model (Germany) that is the standard keyboard layout, we use QWERTY, France uses AZERTY

If it's Vodafone and it's GSM. Could people from the States buy it from Europe, unlock it, pop in the SIM card and install the software to make it work?

Default Hmmmm

This looks cool but if it has the problems with the rolling pearl like the 8100then there will be some haters. I hope RiM listens to people and looks at the issues facing the 8100 and makes the fixes before they release the 8800. It also appears that BB has some stiff competition coming from the new samsung sgh i607 and a few others.

I'm with Finch on this one.

Voda KB looks like there's potential there - The other two look extremely cramped...although the treo KB isn't as bad as many would think.

I'm really impressed with how RIM is evolving their products lines. Production seems to be quicker and product roll outs seem to be moving quicker as well.

Good stuff RIM.

Regards,
dolo
