Default Multiple text messages?

Please Login to Remove!

My g/f who is on ATT can send up to 6 messages at a time. As in.. when she's typing a message it will be one long paragraph/msg and at the top it says 1/6 or 2/6 etc etc.. my curve on VZW only can send 1 at a time.. is there an option somewhere that I am missing to allow me to do this?

Nope. You can't do that on a Verizon Curve.

Question

I thought u can create and name contact groups in your address book, and when u want to send a text to multiple contacts you can just select the group you created. Or click the menu and select add recipient to the address field?

Just wonderin.

That's not what the OP is referring to. The OP is referring to being able to type SMS longer than 160 characters and having the device automatically break it up into multiple messages. Verizon doesn't support it on BlackBerry.

This is pretty much WHY I almost never send SMS anymore. I just stick with MMS because no matter how succinct I would try to be 95% of the time I would hit that 160 char limitation. That is, until I realized 1 or 2 of my friends can not receive MMS messages. I think they're on Sprint. Not positive...

Default you can try using juicecaster

I am not sure if it is available for your carrier and phone, but one option for sending longer messages is to use other programs that let you text aside from your phones, such as juicecaster, which is designed to let you send videos and pics, but works just as well for sending text, especially on a blackberry.

Not necessarily true. I just moved from the Treo 800w on Sprint, and there was an option in the Registry one could tweak that allowed the user to type longer than 160 character SMS texts, and it would automatically break it up. After just over a week I already prefer the BB OS to WinMo, as it is way faster, more stable, and much better on battery life. However, here is a time that WinMo with it's massive configurability wins it seems.

Question

Ok, Jack, please take pity on another newbie, and tell me where to find this! Is it in the desktop app, or on the phone itself hidden somewhere in the options??

Rebecca, whose team always needs messages more than 160 char in length - and is on Sprint
