Anyone happen to know how I can purchase a Bold from Germany vendor? I'd greatly appreciate any assistance.

Don't you have any family or friends in Germany?

The 3G bands on the Bold won't work with T-Mobile's 3G so if you want 3G on the Bold, you're out of luck until T-Mobile releases the Bold. But look on eBay.

That is not correct. T-Mobile USA is using 3G on 1700Mhz and 2100Mhz. The BlackBerry Bold supports 2100Mhz. See this link: T-Mobile USA Congratulated on First Major Urban 3G UMTS / HSDPA Network

You need the uplink and the downlink. The uplink and downlink is 1900/2100, while T-Mobile's 3G is 1700/2100. The Bold supports WCDMA I (2100 MHz), WCDMA II (1900 MHz), and WCDMA V (1900 MHz).

Thanks for the clarification. I didn't know that this makes a difference So a 3G device needs to support both 1700 and 2100 to work on T-Mobile USA?

Yeah, for T-Mo's AWS the bands have to be paired. That's hot the case with other carriers' 3G service.

One more thing, I am sworn to not talk about this but she has a bb 9000 now. Its' a prototype. She won't let me see it at all. She got it about a week ago.
Sorry, but looks like pillowtalk to me.

You would think you could find it on thier website a week before. I am not holding my breath. My dad works for a MAJOR BB user with Cinguler/ATT, and he is expecting a Bold soon. Have a feeling it might be a while for T-Mo, unfortunately.

A person can dream.

It's going to be a LONG while for us T-Mobile users. Just buy an unlocked one and enjoy it the 3G BlackBerry on our 2G network. I don't know what I'm going to do when I see T-Mobile service with 3G next to it. It's going to be amazing!

So we can still get an unlocked BOLD for Tmobile, it just won't be 3G? As long as it'll be EDGE capable I'll be happy.

That is correct. You can use a Bold on EDGE only mode.

Default 1st Q 2009

It's begining to look like Jan 2009 before T-Mobile comes out with the 9000. That's my conclusion after reading numerous comments posted here and a few other places. Thats the bad news.

The good news is that after being on the market for a while, Rim will be delivering a 9000 without all of the bugs being mentioned here. Typical with any new product I guess.

Heres my question - does tmo germany have the same 1700/2100 3g bands that tmo us will be using? If that's the case then show me some unlocked german bold's that way I don't have to wait till who knows when...

Anyone know?

No, they do not. ANY Bold you purchase at this time is going to be EDGE ONLY through T-Mobile U.S. I don't think there is any other carrier in the world that uses 1700/2100MHz. They are 1900/2100MHz.

This has already been discussed, just go up to towards the top of this page...

Default Problems

Am I imagining something or are our fellow 9000 users having problems? I have never seen such an over-abundance of issues re a bb product.

Will the major carriers get these bugs out before they go to market?

Should I anticipate keeping my 8820 a while longer? Perhaps until the 10,000 line comes out?
