So I look at my 8100 this morning and I realize I'm on a Cellular One signal, not my T-Mobile. I have my phone set to detect networks automatically and today it decides it's going to ride on Cel One's signal. My question is will I get hit with any fees for being on this signal? EDGE works just fine and my mail comes in with no problem...I just have an uneasy feeling being on a different carrier. BTW, this never hapenned with my 7230, 7290, or my 8700g, and I've worked in the same place since I got my 1st BB. Any ideas?

Nope, you'll be fine. All it's doing is pinging off of Cell Ones tower. No additional charges at all. Used to happen to me all the time when I was with Cell One, I would ping off of Cingulars towers.

Whenever I checked mine, it says Cingular! I have T-mobile!

Actually it depends. I have T-Mobile to Greenville, SC from Atlanta, GA. I was told that since I use my BB for data alone (no voice), I am not on a nationwide plan which means I get charged for data roaming. $10/MB to be exact. Yes, $10! If you use your BB for voice and data, however, you are fine. Otherwise, I would advise you to call up T-Mobile IMMEDIATELY.

Also, if you do have voice and data, keep in mind that if you are roaming on Cingular or Cellular One, you are no longer getting free Mobile to Mobile...
