Sadly, no, the 8800 lacks flash support.
Who knows, maybe there will be some in a future OS release, but I kind of doubt it.

Is your BES version 4.3. I just upgraded our BES to SP3 and I can open .wav files now.

This worked for me: If you have BBMaps, select "Start GPS". Once that has found some satellites (the number of found satelites is listed at the bottom left of the Maps Dashboard), then your GPS location in the system options/settings should start up.

Another little trick in bbMaps is to hit your "u" key.....it will then show how many satellites you are connected to.

How to set shortcut keys?
Hello,
I just got an 8800 a week ago in Hong Kong, my first Blackberry. I am just wondering how to set up things like "f" brings up profile, etc, because when I try it, it doesn't work (any letter pushed in the home-screen just brings up address book entries to call). Is there a way to set these myself, or is it because I bought an unlocked phone/or Smartone (my carrier) doesn't provide this?

Also-- ways to shortcut in menus?
Such as: when I'm in my email/msg window, any shortcuts to delete selected messages?

just hit the del key.
You can select multiple messages by pushing the shift key and rolling the trackwheel and then hitting the del key. Also you can highlight a date and push the menu key and then select "delete prior."

You have to go into Phone --> Options --> General Options and set Dial from Home Screen to No.

I love the Telenav with GPS it works great, but how the heck do i shut down the application? There is no option for exit, off, shut dowm etc.. If I exit the application after I have arrived at a destination, the damm thing keeps talking after i leave.
does anyone know the proper steps to shut it down and keep it off??

shawnfb, you should probably have posted this to the GPS or Aftermarket forum.
When you reach your destination go to the TeleNav home screen (press menu key the n "Telenav Home", then just press the back (escape or whatever it's called on the right side of the pearl) key.

This is how I send mp3 ringtones to my 8700c. I've ben doing this for a while now and I'm on BIS. I'll be sure to try it on my 8800 when I get it on Friday.

This is huge. I have found myself stuck with spelled out 800 numbers, trying to go through which letters are mapped to which keys. It ain't fun. Plus, people who see me give me weird looks as I'm counting on my fingers and listing off the alphabet, three letters at a time (except, of course, when I hit 7 - PQRS)
Thanks!

My phone app does this too

My phone app does this, too, and I am very pleased that it does! If you type on the number keys, it will put numbers on the "to-dial" line but simultaneously finds names in your address book that match any keys you type. IMHO, this bit couldn't work better.
