I deleted BB Maps from my Torch 9800 in favour of Google Maps. I have now downloaded GPS Logger which requires BB Maps. Any attempts that I have made to download BBmaps again have failed. I get all the right indicators on the screen but at the end of the procedure - no BB Maps. I get BB Maps Installer in the Applications list , but that does nothing. Any ideas, anyone?

Some Themes block BB Maps. Are you using a default Theme?


Edit add:
Try this to reload the BB maps Icon from the BB browser. It will be in the Applications folder.

If this does not work it may be the theme is blocking the Icon, change themes.

Tried that. I opened the link in my browser but the page gave the message that the requested resource is unavailable.

Seems Rim moved it so try this one. I just did on my BB and it reloaded the app and the Icon is there. May ask if this to replace the current app, just say yes.

I accessed this link through my BB browser, followed the instructions and I was informed that Blackberry Maps Installer was now installed. No sign of any icon or the maps. Blackberry Maps Installer is listed in the Applications page, but it does nothing.

Have you pulled the battery to reload the OS.?

I have rebooted by removing the battery both before and after doing the BB maps download and getting BB Maps Installer in my applications list. No icon and BB Maps Installer always shows as Not Running in the Applications List. Any further ideas?

Further to my last comment, I now have BB Maps Launcher icon on my screen (Hooray!) but clicking on this brings up a message "Uncaught exception: Could not start internal application".
