Default Outages for bis service on bold At&t?

Please Login to Remove!

Anyone else getting this, the blackberry thingy logo besides 3G is going out and in, have to pull battery to get it back and then it goes away again after some time. I was on browser today and the connection suddenly turned to all OFF. On .247 on At&t.

Anyone else?

I have been having the same trouble for about 2 days. If you get anywhere let us know. I called AT&T and they just resent my service books and are supposed to call me back on Thursday to see if it helped. It's getting really annoying.

Where are you? Did you check the Carrier Specific Issues section or the Network Outages section for your location? T-Mo was having problems earlier today but haven't seen or heard of an ATT problem.

Default AT&T BB Bold Outage in Central New Jersey on 4/27

I confirm the same experience. I have a number of users on BES in Central Jersey. Only Bold users were affected. When people got back home last night (away from Central Jersey), their BB's came back to life.

I spent literally 2 hours with AT&T on the phone and several different reps, they made go thru all sorts of meaningful and meaningless troubleshooting steps, they could see that there was something wrong but could not determine where the problem was. I kept on saying it was the network (because I had a number of Bold users with the same problem) but they kept on saying they did not have any other calls from the area or any knowledge or network/tower issues.

We will find out in a couple of hours when everybody is back in the office.

Symptoms included "BB" logo (next to 3G) going on/off and no data connectivity (BES email, BIS email, browsing) whatsoever. Voice and SMS were OK.

Please let us know how you make out in Jersey. I am Eastern PA and this has affected me for two days now. I hope it is resolved very soon.

I finally saw a post on another forum discussing an outage in PA and Central NJ. Seems ATT was/is doing a 3G upgrade and updating all the towers with 850 so now you will have both 850 and 1900.

We were never informed of this or it would've been posted on DataOutagenews.com - Blackberry & Carrier Service Outage Information Center

Same here in PA. I was down in Philly this morning and it was fine but 30 minutes north it isn't working.

I'm glad someone could find out this type of information. I called AT&T yesterday about a voicemail problem and not only could she not get my problem fixed, she kept ignoring my questions about upgrading towers to 850 in my area. All she could say was "they are doing maintenance on towers within a 25 mile radius of your home address". That's nice to know...it seems they are always "working on towers", but the consistency of reception doesn't seem to show it.

I fixed my own voicemail problem by reading this blog...it was the Visual Voicemail.

The phone reps really need to know more than the customers, but I find that is usually not the case.

So AT&T reps should know about and assist you with a beta OS that is not supported by AT&T and includes a feature (visual voicemail) which is also not supported (for BlackBerries, anyway) by AT&T?

UFB...

The rep did not ask me what OS version I was on...if she had, that might have clued her in that I was on my own. I did not realize until reading this blog that the VVM was the problem.

Thank you for your helpful comment.
