I assume the card is in nice and firm. Have removed and reinserted it? Some rare time the card needs to be formatted on a pc.

I thought that a BB is only capable of seeing a 2 GB card, unless you load all the data onto the card from your computer and then try to access it in the BB. I thought that you needed V4.3 for the Desktop Mgr also for it to see cards larger than 2G, but I may be wrong on this.

OP likely has 4.2.1 at least--and 4gb is available to that OS.

The size of the Media Card available is OS-dependent. 4.3 is up to 8gb.

it has nothing to do with desktop manager, it has to do with the OS on the device, not the desktop manager on the PC

I just placed a 4GB into mine yesterday and almost broke the silver brace in my 8310, turns out this brace is actually a cradle that the stick slips into. I almost broke it

i also think a 2gb sd card is the maximum for bb,or maybe you should format the card in fat or have a try of fat32

I've a 4gb card in my 8120 right now. Reads it fine. My computer doesn't see it though. No idea what that's about but I know for a fact that it'll take a 4gb card no problem. So long as you're using the 4.3 OS. I haven't tried a bigger card yet.
Cheers!
