Default Exchange 2003 and 2007 at the same time

Please Login to Remove!

Hi BES Admins,

We are in the process of moving our users over to Exchange 2007 but we want to do it slowly. I think real slow. Can both Exchange 2003 and 2007 point to the same BES since some users will be on 2003 and other on 2007?

Do I need to create another BESAdmin service account mailbox on the Exchange 2007 and leave the old one on 2003?

Should I recreate the mapi profile too?

Can anyone give me some insight and/or prior experience? Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Rich

Default Same situation

We're in mixed mode right now and have the service account mailbox in 2003 still. In 2007 we just added the permissions. So far no issues. I have heard of some funky calendar issues but nothing has been reported.

Same service account is being used for both Exchange environments

On BES Stop services and set to manual uninstall ESM and reboot.
Install CDO 1.2.1
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
Start service

CDO 1.2.1 is backwards compatable.

follow this KB too for migration.

Thanks for the reply.

Did you have to do anything with the CDO.DLL and MAPI32.DLL files? Also, did you have to recreate the mapi profile on the BES?

Hi Knott,

Thanks for the reply. That KB article is a great one. But that's more off a cutover. I'm looking to move my users over slowly. Like over month time frame. I wish we were migrating them all at once.

Then dont move them all over at once (skip that part) but follow it.
It will work.
