Default Storm v Bold

Please Login to Remove!

Just wondering which model is the most reliable, and fastest loading up applications, out of the two models.

I'm hoping to buy one tomorrow. I like them both, but can't decide...

Thanks.

Ian.

Wirelessly posted

The 2 models are completely different.

Do you prefer the touchscreen or full physical qwerty keyboard?

Which carrier has better coverage in your area?

I had both. Use to have a bold now a Storm. Steve is correct in do you want touchscreen or not. I liked the bold when I had it and the storm is getting better everyday.

Also depends upon your carrier. You really should determine which carrier is best for where you plan to use the device and then pick the device.

It would relaly help to know where you are, in the US or elsewhere.

The 9530 works on both CDMA (Verizon) and GSM, but probably best on Verizon. You will only get 3G on Verizon, the GSM will only connect on EDGE and GSM carriers don't really have the service books so that can be an issue as well.

The 9000 is a GSM device and operates at 3G on ATT, or EDGE on T-Mo if it is unlocked, in the US.

Only Verizon has tech support for the 9530/Storm and only ATT supports the Bold (9000) - at least in the US anyway..

What are your needs? Some people who email/text a lot find a physical QWERTY keyboard quicker than the Storm's touch screen.

I would also go to your local store and play around with it if possible. Maybe the size or form factor is a consideration.

I tried the storm but changed it back after a day to a querty 8800 - that touch screen drives me mad.

The iPhone and BB Bold are my clear winners.

Depends were you mean "Slow"

Web browsing will depend on the Web page and your signal strength as well as the OS version you are running.. The Storm should be 3G so it should be pretty snappy.

If you mean the BB as whole, clicking on things and going from landscape to portrait that depends on the OS version.. and how quick you are expecting it to be.

Does the carrier in question let you test drive the phone for a month or so?

I was a little frustrated at first too. I got hooked to it very fast.. It gets better every day! You have to actually give it some time and mess around on it and get used to how it works. Once you do that you'll love it! Happens every time
