Default HTML e-mail with 4.5 OS installed

Please Login to Remove!

I installed last night on my AT&T 8310 and everything seems to be working fine so far. All the apps I use, google maps, google sync, Yahoo messenger, google talk, TeleNav, etc. are all working.

Just curious, am I supposed to have HTML email with this upgrade and being on BIS?

Thanks in advance.

You'll get HTML email when the BIS system is upgraded. This should be happening in the next few weeks.

The carrier is supposed to upgrade their servers to support html on emails.

That's the BIS system. Upgrades are currently being worked on and will likely be done in the next few weeks.

I would assume that this same upgrade will allow us to email some short videos. This and 3G to speed things up would be a big plus. Some of the features on 4.5 are going to have to wait till ATT installs thier upgrade.

4.5 has been in beta for some time now and some people have obtained it through illegitimate ways (it's not hard to find). Vodafone has released an "official version" but it is older than some of the more recent betas that are out there, and there are known issues with that version.

The copies floating around are for GSM Curve's only. Only rumours at this point, but supposedly 4.5 has reached some CDMA vendors (specifically Sprint) for testing.

We'll just have to wait and see! Once the BIS upgrades are complete, I'm sure we'll start to see more about the 4.5 release.

No one with an 8330 has stated they have it installed.

No, there are not. I haven't even heard the rumors that Sprint has it yet to test, but could be.

Regardless, that's still kinda cool. I haven't noticed any new features on BIS yet.

My Verizon corp rep (who provides me with seeding device) told me that v4.5 OS was coming June/July time frame... Last week (or was it the week before) she revised that to July/Aug time frame.

Is the BIS system carrier specific (t-mob has their own, att has their own etc), or any BB user will get html email when a global BIS is upgraded?

and beta 4.5 users would be able to use it yes?

I found it amusing that an "official" 4.5.37 still had most of the same issues as the beta.
