Default Volume of Ringtones

Is there a way to increase the volume of ring tones? Virtually all of the OEM ring tones are difficult to hear (except for the classic ring and a few others).

For those that do not have a website to upload your files to, you can also email your ringtone to your gmail account. Then with the HTML browser, simply open the attachment and save.

Question

I suppose the same horrible download limit applies? That is the biggest obstacle for me.

Is there no other way to save audio files to the BB? Is there an application out there which will allow you to save files and manage files directly on the BB?

What is the consensus on file attributes? 128kps/32khz is a good start?

If you use the Blackberry browser you can't go much over 120k If you use the cingular browser you can go much higher. I was able to get the 528kb coldplay.

The only luck I've had is at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mp3ringtones/

After joining the group, I was able to go to the site via my device and download a few ringtones. Some worked like In Da Club but others like Outkastthewayyoumove didn't.

In another thread someone mentioned www.coolservice.dk It has a free file uploader. You upload the file and then it gives you an id that you type in at a certain web address on your phone and you can download the file for free.

I cannot break 120'ish with either browser. Are you sure about that? I get a blank message and the option to click 'OK' when I use my Cingular browser. When I use the BB browser, it gives me an error message saying the file is too big. I do not understand the idea behind the file size limitation.

The only browser is works with is Internet Browser, Cingular Browser (WAP) Gives you blank error, and BlackBerry Browser (BES) Gives you file size error.

That's what I used to get the ringtones onto my 8700r. Worked great.
I used MpTrim to cut them, uploaded them to the coolservice website then downloaded to my 8700 using the html browser.

BTW, what exactly makes a message level 1? Sorry for the noob question, just curious.
