Default Anyone else having problems with the voicemail notification icon?

Please Login to Remove!

Mine keeps appearing, even when I have no voicemail. If I pull the battery on the phone and then let it re-boot the voicemail icon is there right away.

The only way to clear it is to leave myself a message, call my voicemail and delete that message. Then the icon goes. But if I reset the 8300 it's back again.

I'm on T-Mo (UK), and have tried flashing with a couple of different recent firmware versions, all to no avail.

Anyone else seen this?

P.

Im sorry to say that I have not been getting constant VM notifications as you have, When I updated the firmware to .175 and also when I updated to .180 as soon as I booted up I recieved 2 texts...and along side of that my VM notification showed up even though I had no new VM's...but as soon as I checked it, it went away and didnt come back till I actually had one.
Good luck...sorry no help!

I have this problem too on my side of the pond, it's been happening to me for almost a year on different devices - but not all of them. It consistently did *not* happen on a Nokia 6682 and my Pearl 8100, but *does* consistently happen with a Nokia E50 and my Curve 8320.

I've spent way too much time on the phone and even had 3rd tier techs go out and check the tower by my house, nothing anyone can find seems to be wrong. We've rebuilt my account from scratch and everything I think twice, still happens.

If I press & hold 1 to simply dial VM on the 8320, then hang up after hearing "no new vms" it goes away. On the Nokia E50 I had to do exactly what you do, leave a vm for myself then delete it for the icon to disappear.

This only started happening after I took a trip to Hong Kong and used my SIM over there one time; when I got back home it was immediately messed up. I've swapped SIMs, you name it - nothing works to fix it.

I have had the problem also. The one thing that I found that helps is after checking your VM and you delete them wait until you get the vbl. response(you have no more messages) from the provider before you hang up.

Works every time for me. If I don't though I have to use the leave myself a message trick.
