Was wondering if the GPS on the blackberry 8310 is free or do i have to pay a monthly fee?

its free with google maps or blackberry maps. other applications (telenav) require a monthly fee

to get the maps to work, yes. gps is a seperate service however and the transmitter will work without the internet. You will not be able to get any sort of graphical interpretation though.

it depends how will you use it?
GPS itself is free, you just need to have an internet plan to see the maps. if you want turn by turn voice directions you need to pay for GPS

*laffin*, dude, you WILL pay for GPS, in some form or fashion. data plan, or the GPS service itself, and/or both.
