Do I have any options for using this phone with MetroPCS or have I been suckered with this purchase?

I would try visiting a retail location or calling back and speaking with someone else. Metro PCS typically doesn't have a problem with activating devices not in their inventory.

I went to 2 different MetroPCS locations, one a "core" store and no one seems to be able to help me. I called their customer service, who referred me, in turn, back to a retail store. I gave them the 7250's ESN, but they said it was invalid (I think that's the term they used). I'm in Orlando, Florida; does that make a difference? Should I just keep calling every MetroPCS location around until someone knows what to do?

Oh. I suppose I'm out of luck, then, and the device cannot be activated by MetroPCS ever?

Different from all other carriers MetroPCS includes all BIS/BES on its most expensive plan ($50) that is the reason "elmenduco" is able to have all features of a BB on metro PCS. However if he decides to downgrade its service plan he will lose all capability including Text message.

elmenduco, how were you able to get metropcs to give you the data plan? Were they hesitant at first?

If you look on ebay and look for a 8703e. listed as flashed or can be flashed. some of these listings have at the botom of the page, numbers of people that can help you to register your esn to metro's system. KEY words are 8703e metro flashed. Have great day!

Try going to Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Menu Key > Register Now.
If that doesn't work, call MetroPCS and have them resend the service books.

My best suggestion is to get a REAL provider.

You need a BlackBerry data plan for bbm to work.
As well as this thread is very old, it's considered impolite to bump up old topics.

Yes. I have a verizon blackberry curve 8330 that was recently flashed over to metropcs. The cost was $110 and it included the first month of service. The internet, email, and multimedia texting works. If you live in southern california, I could give you the guys contact information. He has a shop that offers most of the cell phone providers in socal.

I have my Sprint Blackberry Pearl 8130 working with Metro.
Metro will have a new blackberry Curve coming out sometime this month, "supposedly" and a $10 plan for internet plan extra.
I hope this is true and i can add it for $10 extra.
But the myth of not been able to have a blackberry on metro is a complete lie, metro will not do it at the moment because if you decide to do an OS Update it will reset the phone and it will kill the flashing, so you will have to return to the store to get it done again and so on.
I wanted to flash a blackberry Storm but is too expensive with out a contract and i went to Verizon in person to test the phone and is way too slow, i hope updates will fix that problem.

if want to update, back up servicebooks before hand, after the os update , service book is gone just reload via s.b.e.b in the service book restore function, and note BEFORE UPDATE BE SURE TO DELETE THE VENDOR FILE IN THE RESEARCH IN MOTION FOLDER. this is from my own experience. bb 8330 sprint. on metro pos pcs
