Last I heard your were going to be able to prorder the 8130 for VZW this Friday. Does anyone have any updates on this?

It is hump day and I need to know if the light is at the endof the tunnel, I mean week...

I've been beating up my two VZW sales guys to get this information. When I talked to them last, the said they did not know but when trying to find out.

You won't see the Pearl2 until November. Before thanksgiving.

As for the Curve, don't get your hopes up. Some early indications show that it may not show up on Verizon. For some reason they're content with the 8830 instead.

Thats what i heard also. i wish someone out there can
confirm this information so i can move on to another carrier
instead of waiting around here.

Well, the day has come to pre-order the Pearl 2 for VZW and it looks as if it will pass without pre-orders being taken.

BGR had today as the pre-order date with release on Nov 1 but...aas of thismorning nothing was on the VZW site about pre-ordering.

The only change was on the VZW main page: They added the "Next phone now" link back as it had been missing from the main page for the last few days. They also added color to the verizon logo when you bring up the pearl (it had previously been all silver) Not that that means a thing.

Anyone else have any updates...I need a new phone yesterday.

Update: Just got off the phone with my biz rep (who finally called me back) He is being told that pre-orders (web only) should be up on Monday and that the tentative release is mid November unless pre-orders are big and then they will push it up...AAARRRHHHH

Again if anyone knows better, please clue us in...

I would love to hear from the VZW Ninjas that show up from time to time on BGR...

Tentative release? What the h3ll is that? This is not some mom and pop shop that just makes decisions at will. "Someone" knows exactly when this phone will be released and that date has likely been planned for months. Why it has dragged on this long, I have no clue. The rep I was assigned recently took over for my guy of tens years, and he knows squadoosh...

My old rep was promoted and for good reason, he used to be in the know on everything...

I thought the release date was changed from Nov 8th to Nov 1st . . . Did it change again?

Its the end of the day and nothing... Well I feel like I have been let down by BGR, I don't know about anyone else. He has been so spot on about other reports. I guess now we wait for the other "maybe" dates. Up first is Nov. 1st. If not, then Nov. 8th. I am even hearing Nov. 19th now.

Truth is, I don't think anyone knows. I'm still holding out for Nov. 8th, which is the date I received from my most reliable source. There better be one h3ll of a marketing campaign coming with this phone - I can't see any other reason to drag things out like this.

While at Barnes & Noble this evening, I was reading the latest copy of Crain's Chicago Business when I came across a Verizon ad. It had a picture of the new Pearl stating that it would be available soon, taking preorders now at:

verizonwireless.com/pearl

Yet, when I tried that link, it went to:

This only had SIGN UP to be notified when available.

What is the hold up on VZW and the Pearl 2? I know the release date was Nov. 1 tentative, but that stupid teaser site and the fact they let everyone pre-order the Juke has got me really impatient.

I see on Phonescoop.com that the FCC date for the pearl 2 was OCt 25.

Could that be causing a delay, or should they have had these things prepped for release after the FCC ok?

Good find. FCC approval could definitely had been what was holding up the launch. It could explain why they did not make their original date. And no, I do not think they would pre-launch the phone until FCC approval was granted just in case something happened where it was not approved.

This afternoon, I made a visit to the Verizon Wireless store in my area. I asked if there were any updates on when the Pearl would be released. The rep stated that preorders would start on Nov 1st. He added the Pearl should be available in stores on Nov 11th . . .

My bus rep tells me the release date will be Nov 8th for business customers with pricing info and and the ability to order on the 6th or 7th.

I guess we'll see...
