Question BB 8520 WIFI issues

Please Login to Remove!

hi all
i am a new owner of BB 8520, never used a bb before.
I am not having a data plan, i plan to use home and office wifi to connect to internet.
the problem is that my bb is able to detect and connect to the wifi network whenever the wifi is enabled on the device, it can also browse the router's homepage but it fails to go to the net. then i fiddle with the settings or some time i rescan the available networks .. turn the radio on or off and hotspot login and it starts working .. only to dissappoint me the next time i switch on the wifi radio.
my default and infact only browser is hotspot. and all the while net can be surfed from my laptop on the wifi!!! should i keep data services on or off? disconnecting the mobile network also doesn;t help... may be you can!!

I'm not sure what you are getting at exactly, or what the specific problem is. That may be why you haven't gotten a reply yet.

I do feel I should note that many applications or features on the BlackBerry will not work without a BLACKBERRY data plan and cannot run on just wifi alone.

I think this is what you are talking about, if not, please clarify.

The issue is that you need the proper service books and a BB data plan to use BB related services, the BB browser, BBM, email, etc. Unless you have those, your BB experience will only be marginal at best.

For WiFi help, please use our SEARCH feature and read our FAQ. That is where to start.

Maybe this will help: How do I set up Wifi on the BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ
