Default How to get rid of Vcast music/flickr

Please Login to Remove!

As the title says... how do you get rid of the Flickr, VCAST music icons. I tried looking in the applications but they aren't there. I tried downloading them and then deleting them from the applications but the little icon keeps coming back!!! I hate Flickr and VCAST. How do I get rid of that crap??

Highlight the icon.
Hit the menu key.
Select "Hide"

I believe you can remove it through the DM.

They are just icons that when clicked will take you to the actual download... The icons use little to no space at all... Just hide them and all is good!

Delete those Service Books! Worked for me. At least for the V-Cast icon. Go in Options-Advanced Options-Service Books, then find the ones you want to delete then delete them.

It's too bad we have to delete the service books, we should have the option to erase the option from the device. Perhaps something they will consider in the future.

Wow... leave my phone to charge over night.. wake up, take a shower, head off to work, play with BB some, call girlfriend, notice that flikr and vcast returned?!?!?!

Oh-well. I deleted the service books for the buggers again but oh-well. I was a bit shocked to see them back. VZW sure wants its customers to use the apps I guess.

I only know about the V-Cast link, but I haven't had problems with it returning.

Maybe try Crackmem? I doubt you'll get rid of Vcast but it looks like it will let you get rid of Flickr and a few other annoying things. Plus its great for loading OS updates!

They are just links (until you actually install them), so I'm also in favor of hiding them. No need to delete them.

Yes, they are carrier-pushed. You can delete the service books to temporarily get rid of them, but the next time the books get pushed to your device, they'll pop right up.. as you found.
